Ryan Gravenberch has expressed excitement after penning a new long-term contract at Premier League champions Liverpool, keeping him at the club until 2032.
The Dutch midfielder initially joined the Reds in a £34.2 million deal from Bayern Munich in 2023 and signed a five-year deal with his contract set to expire in 2028.
The 23-year-old has now been rewarded for his impressive performances at Anfield with an extension that commits his future to the club.
Speaking after signing the extension, an excited Gravenberch expressed desire to win more trophies with the club, after last season’s Premier League triumph.
“I feel really, really good, I was really proud to extend my contract at such a big club. So, I’m really happy that I can stay for many more years”, Gravenberch said
“I felt directly the trust from the club, also from the manager. The decision for me was easy to make. My family is also happy here. We are now here almost three years, so I know everything already. I’m happy that I’m here.”
Gravenberch has seen his influence grow at Liverpool over the years, playing a key role in their league triumph.
This season, he has also featured in 36 matches across all competitions, including 27 in the Premier League.
“For the short term, end the season as good as possible. And for the long term: win many more trophies with Liverpool”, Gravenberch added.
“I have a really nice relationship with (the fans). Always when I do something good in the stadium I hear them singing my chant.
“I’m really grateful for the supporters because without them we would not be where we are now. In the future, we want to give them many more (trophies), so hopefully we can get that done.”
Liverpool return to action after last Friday’s FA Cup win over Wolves when they face Turkish side Galatasaray on Tuesday in the first leg of their Champions League Round of 16 clash.
