Former Liverpool manager Klopp dismisses Real Madrid links as nonsense

Former Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp has firmly played down speculation linking him with a sensational move to Real Madrid, brushing off the rumours as baseless.

As transfer talk and managerial gossip continue to swirl, the ex-Reds boss addressed the claims head-on during a media appearance in Munich.

Despite stepping away from the Anfield dugout after a trophy-laden spell that included both the UEFA Champions League and Premier League titles, Klopp made it clear there has been no approach from the Spanish giants.

“If Real Madrid had phoned, we would have heard about it by now,” said Klopp.

“But that’s all nonsense. They haven’t called even once, not once. My agent is there, you can ask him. They haven’t called him either.

“Right now I’m not thinking about that, luckily there’s no reason to.

“For my age, I’m quite advanced in life, but as a coach I’m not completely finished. I haven’t reached retirement age. Who knows what will happen in the coming years? But there’s nothing planned.”

Meanwhile, Klopp remains active in his current role with Red Bull GmbH, overseeing global football operations.

Although he has not ruled out a return to the touchline, he appears in no rush to dive back into management.

With ongoing speculation also linking him back to Liverpool amid challenges under Arne Slot, Klopp’s latest comments serve as a clear reset: at least for now.

As things stand, there’s no tactical switch or managerial move on the horizon, leaving fans and pundits alike to keep guessing about what the next chapter in Klopp’s career will bring.
