Hansi Flick was impressed with Barcelona’s performance after they eased to a 3-1 win over Real Betis in the La Liga to return to winning ways.
The Spanish champions suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Alaves in midweek and were back at the Camp Nou for their final home game of the season.
They sealed an impressive 3-1 win over Real Betis and became the first team in La Liga history to win every of their home league games in a single campaign.
Speaking after the clash, Flick hailed his side’s display as they set a new league record with the result.
“It has to do with the team and the connection with the fans. It’s an amazing feeling, they give us 10% more. The fans know when we need them. Today it was a bit difficult, but we wanted to win and this is incredible to see how we defended against a fantastic team like Betis”, Flick said.
Meanwhile, Barcelona fans waved goodbye to Robert Lewandowski, who played his final game for the club at the Spotify Camp Nou and was given a warm farewell.
The Poland international joined the club back in 2022 and departs as a legendary figure after 119 goals and several trophies won.
“I think it was a perfect farewell. It has been very emotional. It has been seen that he has Barça in his heart. I’m very grateful to Robert. He’s a fantastic person and a world-class player”, Flick added.
“The last 20 years he has been the best number nine in the world and it will not be easy to find his replacement. We need a number nine connected to the team, but, above all, to score goals.”
Barcelona will round up their campaign against Valencia on Saturday, after they already sealed a second consecutive league title.
