Southampton have completed the permanent signing of goalkeeper Daniel Peretz from Bayern Munich, securing one of their standout performers from last season on a long-term deal.
The 25-year-old has signed a four-year contract at St Mary’s after impressing during a loan spell in the second half of the 2025/26 campaign.
Peretz quickly established himself as a key figure between the posts, recording nine clean sheets in 26 appearances and playing an important role for the Saints during a challenging season.
After arriving from Bayern Munich midway through the campaign, the Israel international adapted quickly to English football and became a fan favourite with a series of assured performances.
His consistency, leadership and shot-stopping ability convinced Southampton to make the move permanent as they continue building for the future.
The transfer also represents a major commitment from the goalkeeper, who has made it clear that his ambitions are closely aligned with the club’s long-term vision.
Speaking to Southampton’s official website after completing the move, Peretz revealed that the club’s atmosphere and sense of unity played a decisive role in his decision.
“I’m super excited. For the last few months this was my home and we had so many good times, and also some tense times, but even in the last few weeks with how we stayed together you could really feel this home environment.
“That was, for me, the dealbreaker. Yes, it is my dream to play in the Premier League and on the highest stages in the world, but a bigger dream for me is to be there with Southampton. I really believe that we can be there and achieve that.”
Peretz’s arrival provides Southampton with stability in a crucial position and adds another important piece to the club’s long-term project.
Having already experienced life at St Mary’s and earned the trust of supporters, the goalkeeper now enters the next chapter of his career determined to help Southampton achieve their ambitions and return to competing at the highest level.
With a four-year deal now signed, Peretz’s future is firmly tied to the Saints as both player and club look ahead with optimism.
