Rangers have secured the future of goalkeeper Liam Kelly after the Scotland international signed a new two-year contract extension with the club.
The 30-year-old shot-stopper, currently away with Scotland at the World Cup, has made 16 appearances across the last two seasons and will now continue his journey at Ibrox beyond his previous deal.
Kelly expressed his delight at extending his stay, describing his return to Rangers as a special chapter in his career.
“I’m delighted to extend my stay here at Rangers,” Kelly said.
“Coming back to the club has been a special experience and I love being here. We’ve got a really strong and competitive goalkeeping department, which pushes us all to improve every day, and it’s certainly an environment I enjoy being part of.
“It’s exciting to commit to what the club is desperate to achieve, and I’m looking forward to continuing to work as hard as I can with my teammates to do our utmost to create special memories for our fans in the years ahead.”
Rangers head coach Danny Rohl welcomed the agreement, highlighting Kelly’s professionalism, leadership and importance within the squad.
“We’re thrilled that Liam has signed a contract extension,” responded Rohl.
“He is a consummate professional who sets a brilliant example in his everyday work. Whether it’s on the pitch, on the training ground or supporting his teammates behind the scenes, his attitude and commitment never waver.
“Liam’s experience and knowledge of this football club are invaluable. He understands exactly what it means to represent the badge, and we’re pleased that he’ll continue to play a key role as we look to achieve our goals.”
Kelly’s extension provides Rangers with continuity in their goalkeeping department as the club continues its preparations for the new campaign.
While opportunities have been limited since his return, the experienced goalkeeper remains a valued member of the squad, offering leadership, competition and depth in a position crucial to Rangers’ ambitions.
The new deal also signals the club’s confidence in Kelly’s role both on and off the pitch as Rohl continues to shape his squad for the seasons ahead.
