England manager Thomas Tuchel has admitted he is concerned about his defensive options after another injury setback left the team facing uncertainty at right-back during their World Cup campaign.

“Naturally! We have another injury in the position,” said Tuchel.
“It will be a tight race for Reece James and it will be a very tight race for Jarell Quansah.
“I’m worried about these two. But it’s our job to find solutions.”

Providing an update on the defender’s condition, the England boss explained that the player was experiencing discomfort but remained hopeful that the issue would not keep him out for a long period.
“He’s in pain. He said he had it before and it was a matter of days. He hopes it stays like this but at the moment it’s just too painful.
“He has his leg up high, compression and ice.”
England’s medical team will continue monitoring both Quansah and James as the tournament progresses.
The situation leaves Tuchel considering alternative solutions, with the manager already facing pressure to maintain defensive stability while chasing World Cup success.
