Bayern Munich star Kane wary of Dortmund’s threat

Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has warned his side to be prepared for this weekend’s Klassiker against Borussia Dortmund, as they look to close in on the Bundesliga title.

The Bavarians lead the chasing pack, six points ahead of defending champions Bayer Leverkusen, with six matches left until the end of the season.

Injuries have hit Vincent Kompany’s side hard in recent weeks, with losses including Alphonso Davies, Dayot Upamecano, and Jamal Musiala for the long term.

Speaking ahead of this weekend’s crucial clash with the Black and Yellow, England skipper Kane stated that the team is fully focused on the game, despite their midweek loss to Inter Milan in the UCL quarterfinals first leg.

“I think they’d always be a dangerous team. I think they have a lot of quality players. Obviously, with the new coach [Kovač] now as well, they seem to have picked up a little bit and are still in the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League as well.

So we know on their day, they can be really dangerous and can hurt any opposition. So we have to be ready for that.”

The two sides battled to a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture in November with Jamal Musiala canceling out Bynoe-Gittens early stunner.

Bayern have however won 10 of the last 13 meetings between both sides and head into the clash at the Allianz Arena on Saturday as favorites.

“Being at home at the Allianz, we need to try and use that. Like every other game, we’ll prepare well. Obviously, it’s stuck in between two big Champions League games as well, but it’s the same for them”, Kane continued.

“So, again, we have to get on with that and just go out like we have in every other game: try and dominate and try and play with a high intensity and in the end, try and be too much for the opposition. That won’t change against them. We know it’ll be tough, but we have to go out with no fear.”

Bayern host Dortmund on Saturday before heading to Italy to face Inter Milan in the second leg of their UCL quarterfinal, hoping to overturn a 2-1 deficit.
