Inter Milan have announced the departure of Italian manager Simone Inzaghi, after Saturday’s heavy defeat in the UCL final to PSG.
Inzaghi, 49, leaves the club after a first trophyless campaign in his four years in charge, with his contract to run until 2026.
What Inzaghi said
“The time has come for me to say goodbye to this club after a journey of four years, during which I have given everything,” Inzaghi said in a statement on Tuesday.
“Every day I have dedicated my first and last thought of the day to Inter. I have been reciprocated with professionalism and passion by players, managers and every single employee of the club.

The six trophies won, including the Second Star Scudetto, along with the path to the UEFA Champions League in 2023 and just a few days ago, are tangible evidence of how much my work has been supported by a communion of purpose with my staff and every member of Inter”, he added.
“I thank the shareholders for the trust that has never been lacking, and the President and his staff for their daily help and dialogue.
One last word I want to dedicate to the millions of Nerazzurri fans who cheered me on, cried and suffered in the difficult moments, and laughed and celebrated in the six triumphs we experienced together. I will never forget you.”
Inzaghi’s time at Inter
The 49-year old joined the Nerazzurri in 2021, as a replacement for Antonio Conte, won six trophies in four years at the club.

He led the club to a Scudetto last season, while they were narrowly pipped to a second successive title by Conte’s Napoli this season.
Inzaghi also led the team to two Champions League finals, both defeats to Manchester City in 2023 and PSG last weekend.
What next for Inzaghi?
The former Lazio manager is expected to replace Jorge Jesus as Al-Hilal manager, with an offer of more than €20 million per year.
