England international Callum Wilson has confirmed his decision to leave Newcastle United after the expiration of his contract.
Wilson, 33, joined the Magpies in 2020 from Bournemouth and will now leave the club after failing to agree a new deal.
The 33-year-old striker scored 49 goals in 130 appearances over five years, although the latter part of his Newcastle career was marred by injuries.

He was limited to just 18 appearances in the English Premier League last season, with Sweden striker Aleksander Isak the first choice in the center-forward position.
“To all you Magpies, it’s time to say goodbye after an unbelievable few years at the Toon,” Wilson said in a statement.
“Thank you for everything. We stood strong together through the highs and some lows to help the club experience new heights.
I am so proud to have worn the iconic No. 9 shirt and to have added a little more history to it. Scoring at the Gallowgate end really is as special as they say.
All good things come to an end, but there’s no doubt Newcastle United will always have a place in mine and my families hearts”, he concluded.
Wilson also came on as a substitute in the Magpies historic League Cup final win over Liverpool last season, their first major trophy in 70 years.
He failed to score in the English Premier League last season, with most of his appearances coming as a substitute.
The former Bournemouth forward featured as a Toon for the last time on the final matchday of the 2024-25 campaign, coming on for the final 20 minutes in the 1-0 home loss to Everton.
The striker is yet to make a decision on his future although he has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs and also abroad from the Major League Soccer.
