Arsenal’s Arteta targets win over Manchester City title clash

Mikel Arteta has made his intentions crystal clear ahead of Arsenal’s blockbuster showdown with Manchester City, insisting his side will go all out for victory rather than settle for a draw.

With the Premier League title race heating up, this high-stakes encounter could prove decisive in shaping where the trophy lands come May.

Arsenal currently hold a six-point advantage at the top, although City have a game in hand and are gathering momentum at a crucial stage of the season.

Despite the mathematical advantage a draw could offer, especially with Arsenal chasing their first league title in over two decades, Arteta has dismissed any conservative approach as his team prepares for one of their biggest tests of the campaign.

“No. We want to win the game. We are there to win the game. I haven’t talked about [a draw] guys. We need to win the game,” said Arteta.

“And we are preparing to win the game. It’s no different to any stadium we’ve been to in the last five years. There’s no change there.”

The Gunners head into the clash looking to bounce back after a mixed run of form, having suffered three defeats in their last five matches across all competitions.

However, the focus now shifts firmly to delivering a statement performance against the defending champions.

As the title race enters its decisive phase, Arsenal know that a strong result at the Etihad could tilt momentum back in their favour.

Meanwhile, the Cityzens will be eager to close the gap, setting the stage for a fierce and potentially defining encounter.
