Sesko hails Fernandes’ impact in Manchester United’s run

Benjamin Sesko has applauded Bruno Fernandes’ contributions to Manchester United’s resurgence this season and has backed the Portuguese midfielder to win the PFA player of the year award.

Fernandes has enjoyed an impressive campaign, racking up 18 assists and is just two from equalling the tally for the most in a single Premier League season.

Sesko, who joined Manchester United last summer and has profited from Fernandes’ impressive displays has expressed admiration for his teammate.

“He’s great. He’s my team-mate. And of course, always stand up [for my team-mates], yeah, he should win it”, Sesko said.

“I’m also getting a lot of instructions from Bruno.

“Every single training, after training, sometimes before training. Whatever he tells you, just do it, don’t think twice. And that’s what I said. I’m really grateful to have this opportunity to be around him.”

Manchester United have enjoyed a resurgent run under Michael Carrick, who took over on interim role in January, after the departure of Ruben Amorim.

The Red Devils have moved up to third on the standings and are in pole position to qualify for the UEFA Champions League after a two-year absence.

“I think we did great. Still, some games left, but I think we’re doing great. We have a great spirit in the team. I’m learning a lot from the experience. We are here, great players, great coaching staff”, Sesko added.

“I would like to really achieve some trophies here. I think there would be something that we just can’t forget it, life at all. And of course, we need to do a lot for it, but I believe we have the capacity to do that.”

Manchester United return to action on Monday night when they face Brentford, hoping for a win to move them closer to a Champions League finish.
