AC Milan have agreed a club-record deal to sign Portuguese forward Goncalo Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain, becoming their first arrival of the summer.
The deal is believed to be worth up to €74 million including add-ons, marking the most expensive import to the Serie A since Inter Milan signed Romelu Lukaku for €80 million in 2019.
It also marks the most expensive deal in AC Milan’s history, surpassing the €50 million paid to Lille to sign fellow Portuguese Rafael Leao in 2019.
“Gonçalo Ramos to AC Milan, here we go! Deal agreed between the clubs and on player side”, a report revealed.
“Club record signing for AC Milan, breaking Leão record as it was €50m – fee will be way in excess of this with add-ons. Deal also done on player side.”
Ramos began his career at Benfica and rose through the ranks at the club, before he went on to join PSG on an initial loan deal in 2023 and the move was made permanent for around €65 million.
However, he struggled to make a case for a starting lineup in the side, with PSG coach Luis Enrique favouring a versatile forward, rather than a natural centre-forward.
Ousmane Dembele has been deployed in the position over the last two seasons, reducing Ramos to multiple substitute appearances.
Ramos becomes AC Milan’s first signing since the arrival of new head coach Ruben Amorim, as they eye major improvements for next season.
The Rossoneri are preparing to rebuild this summer after missing out on Champions League football on the final day of last season and will be hoping to challenge for the league title once more next season.
For now, Ramos is with Portugal at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He will join his new teammates after the tournament to get up to speed ahead of next season.
