Rayan Cherki is quickly becoming one of the biggest talking points at Manchester City; and the Frenchman had the perfect response to his latest heroics.
The midfielder produced another electric performance as Manchester City demolished Crystal Palace 4-1 at Selhurst Park, scoring twice to help Pep Guardiola’s side maintain their perfect start to the Premier League season.
With Erling Haaland also finding the net twice, City delivered a statement performance on Friday night.
But while Haaland’s goals were crucial, Cherki once again stole much of the spotlight.
The 23-year-old has wasted little time making his presence felt since the new campaign began.
After registering two assists from the bench in City’s opening-day victory over Bournemouth, Cherki went one better against Palace.
He scored twice, constantly threatened the hosts and ended the night with the travelling City supporters serenading his name.
