Lopetegui set to join Ten Hag train, as West Ham boss enters last chance salon

West Ham coach Julen Lopetegui will have his last opportunity to return the club to winning ways when they play Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League this weekend.

It has been a torrid start to the season for the Hammers since Lopetegui took charge of the team in the summer. Recall that the club let go 9f David Moyes, who steered the club to impressive finishes in his five seasons. He also led them to victory in the UEFA Conference League.

Lopetegui was brought in to help the club play more appealing football, but it has not worked according to plan, despite signing a horde of players last summer.

This season, the Hammers have won only four of their 14 Premier League games. They have also lost seven games and drawn three.

Due to their poor run of form, there has been a lot of pressure on Lopetegui, as the West Ham board and fans have grown impatient. The Hammers even lost woefully to Leicester City in their last Premier League game on Tuesday.

Now, according to Transfer News Live, it appears that Lopetegui has one last chance to prove his worth when they play Wolves on Sunday. If he loses the game, the Spaniard could join Erik Ten Hag and Steve Cooper in the list of sacked managers this season.

Coincidentally, that game could also determine the future of Gary O’Neil, who has been struggling this season, with Wolves sitting 9th after picking only nine goals from their first 14 league games.
