Wilfried Gnonto fires Leeds United Premier League survival warning

Wilfried Gnonto has thrown down the gauntlet as Leeds United gear up for a tense Premier League run-in, insisting the squad must stay “aggressive” to secure survival.

Fresh off what he described as one of his most important moments in a Leeds shirt, the forward is now fully focused on the final stretch.

With seven games left on the calendar, the Whites hold a narrow cushion, just four points above the relegation line, meaning every fixture from here carries high stakes.

Attention now shifts to a daunting clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Historically, it’s a ground that has not been kind to Leeds, with decades passing since their last league victory there.

Meanwhile, the opposition, guided by Michael Carrick, have shown resilience despite mixed recent form.

Even so, Gnonto is urging his teammates to press forward with confidence rather than fear.

In football terms, it’s about keeping intensity high, sticking to the game plan, and not letting the pressure dictate performance.

“We’ve been together for all the difficult periods – we always try to help each other, and we always have a pretty good environment,” he told Leeds Live and other reporters while attending the opening of Stuart Dallas’ padel court – ‘Optimum Padel’ – in Cross Green Vale, Leeds.

As the survival battle enters its decisive phase, Leeds will need both mentality and momentum.

If Gnonto’s rallying cry translates onto the pitch, the Whites may yet steer clear of danger when the final whistle blows on the season.
