Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle is expected to be in attendance for the match between league leaders Remo Stars and Kwara United in the Nigerian Professional Football League on Thursday.
The important matchup scheduled to host in Ikenne, Ogun State, with the former MC Oran manager expected to be among the spectators as he continues to scout for players worthy of an invite to the Nigerian National team.
Eric Chelle was appointed by the Nigerian Football Federation in January to replace Austin Eguavoen, who had been in temporary charge since June 2024 after the departure of Finidi George.
The former Mali head coach who is tasked with winning the AFCON 2025 tournament and securing qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, was also in attendance for the league match between Ikorodu City and Plateau United in Lagos State on Wednesday, as he continues to scout for exceptional players plying their trade in the local league.
The 47-year old will be in charge for the first time next month when the Super Eagles play Rwanda and Zimbabwe, in two must-win World Cup qualifiers as they look to overturn their poor start.
Remo Stars who top the Nigerian league will hope to defeat the Afonja Warriors later today, in order to increase their lead at the top to ten points over second-placed Shooting Stars.
