Enzo Fernandez has wasted little time making his feelings clear after swapping Chelsea for Manchester City, with the Argentina midfielder claiming he had always dreamed of playing for “a club as big as Manchester City”.
The 25-year-old completed a stunning British record-equalling £125 million transfer to City late on Deadline Day, bringing his turbulent spell at Stamford Bridge to an end and opening a new chapter under Pep Guardiola’s side.

“It’s a club that has won a lot in recent years. It’s a club that is making history in football and, for me, it’s a huge challenge.”
Fernandez’s arrival gives City another elite midfielder and reunites him with Maresca, who previously worked with the player at Chelsea.
For City, the £125m investment represents a huge statement of intent. For Chelsea, it marks the departure of a player once expected to become a central figure in the club’s long-term project.
