Ramsdale delighted after Newcastle’s dramatic win over Man United

Aaron Ramsdale expressed his joy after helping Newcastle United secure a thrilling 2-1 victory over Manchester United in the Premier League.

Under the bright lights and roaring atmosphere at St James’ Park, the Magpies dug deep to claim all three points, with goalkeeper Ramsdale playing his part in a determined team performance.

Speaking after the match, the shot-stopper admitted he relished the chance to return to the starting lineup and contribute to the crucial victory.

“Really enjoyable. I’ve had opportunities which it’s been tough to get this year and hopefully today I’ve helped with this man to get three points and it’s about kicking on,” Ramsdale said on returning to starting XI.

“We wanted to be resilient and with 10 men we may as well have had 13 men with the crowd. It’s been an excellent night for us.”

The decisive moment came late on when William Osula netted the winning goal, sparking wild celebrations among the home supporters.

Ramsdale revealed he could barely contain his excitement as the ball hit the back of the net.

“I just carried on running, almost fell over and saw the net rippled. I did a knee slide on my own,” the shot-stopper said on Osula’s dramatic winner.

The Newcastle goalkeeper also praised the young forward, backing him to grow in confidence after delivering such a vital moment.

“I’m delighted for him [William Osula], he’s got every attribute.

“He needs to believe in himself a bit more but he’s done it tonight and he’s won us the game.”

The victory gives Newcastle a significant boost in their Premier League campaign, while the team will now look to build momentum from another memorable night in front of their passionate supporters.
