RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko has indicated that he wants to join Arsenal over Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester United.
The North London club have reignited their interest in Sesko from last summer, although a mid-season move is still complicated, with Leipzig reluctant to sell.
Also Sesko’s agent has revealed that a loan move in January is not an option. However, the Gunners already have a head-start in their pursuit of the £70 million-rated striker.
As per reports by talkSPORT, Sesko was sold on Arsenal’s project last summer, choosing them over Chelsea and United, but decided to stay in Germany and boost his short-term development.
The Slovenia international has scored eight goals and assisted two in the Bundesliga so far this season, as well as scoring four in the Champions League.
He has reached a total of 31 goals in 67 games for Leipzig and previously won three Austrian Bundesliga titles during his time at RB Salzburg.
At individual level, he was named Slovenian Footballer of the Year in 2022, and has won the Slovenian Youth Footballer of the Year title three years in a row from 2021-2023.
Many remain unconvinced by first-choice striker Kai Havertz, who has eight goals in 19 Premier League matches this season. With Sesko’s revelation, perhaps a move to Arsenal could be a possibility in the summer.
