Jurgen Klopp has unveiled two separate Germany squads for the upcoming Nations League fixtures, with the head coach taking a different approach to the country’s international schedule.
Germany will face the Netherlands away and Greece at home with the first squad before another group of players takes over for the matches against Serbia at home and Greece away.
The unusual squad structure has created plenty of interest, with several established stars included alongside a number of emerging talents.
For the fixtures against the Netherlands and Greece, Klopp has selected Finn Dahmen, Alexander Nübel and Marc-André ter Stegen as his goalkeepers.
The defensive options are Hennes Behrens, Yann Aurel Bisseck, Nathaniel Brown, Max Rosenfelder, Nico Schlotterbeck, Jonathan Tah, Philipp Treu and Josha Vagnoman.
In midfield, Germany will have Nadiem Amiri, Bambasé Conté, Yannik Engelhardt, Chris Führich, Serge Gnabry, Lennart Karl, Joshua Kimmich, Jamal Musiala, Felix Nmecha, Kevin Schade and Anton Stach.
The forward options for those two matches are Younes Ebnoutalib and Kai Havertz.
That squad contains a blend of experience and youth, with established names such as ter Stegen, Tah, Kimmich, Gnabry, Musiala and Havertz joined by players looking to make their mark on the international stage.
Klopp has then selected a second squad for Germany’s home meeting with Serbia and the subsequent away fixture against Greece.
Noah Atubolu, Finn Dahmen and Jonas Urbig have been named as the three goalkeepers.
The defensive group consists of Waldemar Anton, Ridle Baku, Finn Jeltsch, Maximilian Mittelstädt, David Raum and Malick Thiaw.
Germany’s midfield options for the second set of matches are Karim Adeyemi, Mika Baur, Tom Bischof, Saïd El Mala, Brajan Gruda, Vitaly Janelt, Felix Keidel, Aleksandar Pavlović, Derry Scherhant and Florian Wirtz.
Up front, Jonathan Burkardt and Nick Woltemade complete the second squad.
The selection means Germany will have plenty of attacking quality available across the two groups, with Wirtz, Adeyemi, Burkardt and Woltemade among the players expected to attract significant attention.
The inclusion of Musiala, Kimmich, Havertz and ter Stegen in the first squad also gives the team a strong core of familiar international names.

Germany’s first assignment will come against the Netherlands away from home before Greece visit Germany.
The second group will then take on Serbia at home before travelling to Greece.
