Haaland backs Manchester City for success in title-deciding clash against Arsenal

Erling Haaland has insisted he is not feeling any pressure ahead of Manchester City’s Sunday showdown with Arsenal, backing his team to secure victory in the fixture.

The Cityzens are six points behind Arsenal in the title race with a game in hand and have a real chance to keep their hopes alive with a victory at the Etihad on Sunday.

Man City recorded a 2-0 win when both sides met in the final of the EFL Cup last month and are riding high on confidence after impressive wins over Liverpool and Chelsea after that period.

On the other hand, Arsenal have managed just one win since that cup final defeat, leaving Sunday’s game as a potential decider for the Premier League title.

“Right now, I’m quite calm. It’s one game a week, which is really unusual for us”, Haaland said.

“It barely happens. Honestly, I don’t feel a lot of nerves or anything, because we’ve been chasing all season and we’ve got nothing to lose, so I don’t have any pressure.”

Both sides drew 1-1 earlier in the season, with Arsenal snatching a late equalizer through Gabriel Martinelli after Haaland had given City an early lead.

However, there is a lot at stake this time around in a clash that could play a major role in deciding the 2025-26 English Premier League winners.

Anything short of a victory for Manchester City could potentially derail their title hopes and end their run for a domestic treble triumph.

“You’d have to ask [Arsenal] if they feel the pressure. I cannot talk about them. I can talk about myself, mostly. With myself, I don’t feel loads of pressure, because we’re still far behind”, Haaland added.
